In
1980, I formed a marketing communications consulting practice in the
San Francisco Bay Area, working with a variety of clients including
Chevron, Levi Strauss & Co., and the President's Office of the
University of California.
In
1994, I was recruited as the director of marketing for a start-up
Internet infrastructure developer, where I created and implemented the
marketing plan for a global alliance of ISPs and telephone companies
that grew to more than 400 members worldwide and was eventually
acquired by iPass.
In
1998, I returned to consulting. A partial list of direct clients
includes 1-For-All Marketing, AGT, Aicent, Ardell Group,
Burson-Marsteller, Cardiff Software, Clearpoint Agency, The Conversation Group, Eastwick Communications, ENCAD,
Fujitsu Transactions Solutions, Kickstart Consulting, MindTouch, Nuance, Palomar
Technologies, Peregrine Systems, and Rancho Santa Fe Technology. This
also includes a stint as editorial director for Eastwick
Communications.
Through PR agencies, I
have also supported numerous indirect clients. A partial list
includes Adaptive Planning, Altigen, Azul Systems, BayLogics, Bocada,
BroadLogic, Business Objects, CaseCentral, Coghead, Collation, CygNet, Fax4Free
(Efax), Fujitsu Computer Systems, GoVideo, Groxis, Identity Engines,
